Description
<p dir="">Special Education, Part 1 is intended to enhance professional practice and extend knowledge and skills of participants. The course supports the enhancement of professional knowledge, ethical practice, and ongoing learning in a holistic and integrated manner. Participants will use experiential and inquiry-based learning opportunities to explore the development of learners, program planning and implementation, instructional practices, assessment and evaluation, and ethical considerations related to teaching and learning.</p> <p dir="ltr">This course will be presented via a HYBRID mode of delivery. There will be scheduled, synchronous (online) sessions as well as the expectation of asynchronous, online task completion. The asynchronous portions of the course will be through the Brightspace / D2L Learning Management System. It is expected that all participants will attend the synchronous sessions on the following dates:</p> <p dir=""><strong id="docs-internal-guid-84cf6ad7-7fff-e420-d399-1472ab50681f">Thursday, February 13, 2025 - 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm<br>Thursday, February 27, 2025 - 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm<br>Thursday, March 20, 2025 - 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm<br>Thursday, April 3, 2025 - 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm<br></strong></p> <p dir="">Alternate assignments will be given to anyone who cannot attend.</p> <p dir="">Candidates will participate in interactive learning activities with opportunities for professional dialogue based on current research and practice. Participants should expect to dedicate 125 working hours towards the completion of this course. </p> <p dir="">Weekly office hours will be hosted for participant support. A schedule for these times and dates will be provided to participants at the outset of the course.</p> <p>Links for the virtual sessions will be shared with participants via the course instructor. Access to the virtual classroom space will not be available until February 10, 2025.</p>
